Colour Create Sweet Set

Welcome to another Colour Create Challenge - Hot Pink, Warm Orange and Saffron Yellow with the optional extra of Butterflies! Here is the picture to inspire you...

This colour scheme was chosen by our teamie Victoria who has also donated our prize this week of some lovely SU goodies (see pic below).

I chose to use this Magnolia image for the challenge as I thought it went well with the Colour Scheme. I've also used some SU papers from the Sweet Always Range.

I've coloured Tilda with Copics, added MS Punced Butterflies that have been covered in stickles and pearls :) The Sentiment is a Hero Arts Stamp that has been punched using SU punches.

I thought I'd add a matching gift bag this challenge and found an easy to make tutorial on Split Coast Stampers by Diana Gibbs for a "box in a bag" and you can find the details to make the gift bag here.

It was so quick and easy to make (5 minutes), I'll never buy one again! It's also nice to have it match the card.

Be sure to stop the Colour Create Blog and check out the fabulous creations by the DT this challenge!

Stamps: Magnolia - 60's Tilda and Hero Arts Sentiment
Inks: Copics & Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: SU Sweet Always DSP and matching CS
Tools: Trimmer, MS Butterfly and Border Punches, SU Tag, Circle and Scalloped Circle Punch
Embellishments: Ribbon, Pearls, Stickles, Charm.

Frosty the Snowman

Good Morning Everyone,

WOW I'm so happy to have finally finished a Magnolia Down Under Challenge Card before the challenge closes!!! This week's challenge at Magnolia Down Under is all about the Seasons and no prizes for guessing which one I've chosen!

I've used this cute little Snowman from Magnolia - the first time he's seen ink! I automatically thought of him when I saw the seasons challenge. He has been coloured with Copics and the star has a touch of stickles, the lantern is coloured with Spica Pens and there is Polar White Flower Soft at his feet.

As you can see at the top of the card I've used a laser cut chipboard shape that has been sprayed with Silver Glimmermist and then a second coat of Shimmerz Pearl. (for extra frosty effect!)

I've had this little snowflake charm forever so thought I's add it in the bottom corner to balance that chipboard corner. The background layer is Soft Sky CS embossed with the Cuttlebug Snowflake Folder and sprayed with Shimmerz Pearl Spray. My Pattern Paper is Basic Grey "Dasher".

Whew made with a few hours to spare!

Katie's Birthday

Hi All,

I have used this weeks Just Magnolia Challenge sketch to create a card for my Neighbours Grandaughter Katie who is turning 10 on Saturday. Katie is currently studing for her Ballet Exams for this image was perfect. Happy Birthday and Good Luck in your Exam Katie!

I have coloured my Tilda Ballerina with Copics and added Clear Spica Pen to her dress, shoes and tiara for a touch of extra sparkle!

I've used Pink Pirouette CS along with 7 Gypsies Pattern Paper, a touch of stitching and of course my favourites - Flowers and Pearls.

Colour Create DT Card

Hi Everyone,

This is my DT card for the latest Colour Create Challenge - Warm Pink, Chocolate Brown and White. Our wonderful sponsor this week is "I Did It Creations" and you can check out their wonderul Digi Stamp range here. The colours for this challenge were chosen by the amazingly talented Janiel using this picture as the inspiration.

I have used one of the Digistamps Penelope Puppy from I Did It Creations, coloured with Copics and I have coloured the head and paw twice and popped the second layer on 1mm foam for a slight 3D effect.
The rug is paper pieced in the same paper as I've used on the card. Penelope Puppy is coloured very dark but this card is being given to a friend Karen (by her daughter Amy) who has Chocolate Labradors. Chocolate Coloured pearls, ribbon and a pair of Puppy Paw Print buttons finish off the card.

Be sure to check out the fabulous creations by the rest of the Colour Create DT!

Stamps: I Did It Creations Digistamp - Penelope Puppy
Inks: Copics, Memento Tuxedo Black & Close to Cocoa
Paper: Pretty in Pink & White C/S, Basic Grey Green at Heart Pea (reverse side) and Pebbles Trunk

Tools: Trimmer, EK Success Punch and Computer
Embellishments: Ribbon, Pearls, Paw Print Buttons

Simply Betty Christian & Victoria Case Digi

Happy Friday Everyone,
Boy what a busy time end of financial year at work and school holidays. Does that give me a good enough excuse to be lazy and case my own cards? The card on the left is the one I made for my son Mitchell's 12th Birthday using Simply Betty Millar, the card on the right is the same but with very few minor changes for my nephew Billy's 12th Birthday using Simply Betty Christian! Very slack I know :)

As you can see I haven't sewn on this card and the black pearls are slightly different.

Christian has been coloured using copics once again and the boys didn't mind getting similiar cards!

Stamps: Simply Betty Stamps - Miller
Inks: Copics & Memento Tuxedo Black

Paper: Oragne, Barely Banana & Black Cardstock and Kaiser Rewind Paper

Tools: CM Shape Cutters Circle
Embellishments: Black Pearls, Ribbon, & Metal Embellishment.

My second card for today is for a male friend and not my usual card - I prefer cute stamps but this occasion called for something a little more daring!

This card is made with a Digi Image from Victoria Case called "Sexy Chef" - no prizes for guessing why! I have used the same layout and papers from a previous card that you can see here.

Once again the image is coloured with copics and the sentiment is a rub on.

Stamps: Victoria Case Digistamp - Sexy Chef
Inks: Copics, Memento Tuxedo Black & SU Sahara Sand
Paper: Cool Caribbean & Chocolate Chip C/S with Kaiser "Esther's Guestlist" DP
Tools: Cuttlebug & Quikutz Embossing Folder
Embellishments: Rub On Sentiment, Ribbon & Metal Embellishment.

Thanks for stopping by, I'm hoping to get some cardmaking in this weekend!

Colour Create Ballerina

Happy Thursday Everyone,

This fortnight's Colour Create Challenge is sponsored by Michelle's Scrapbooking who is offering a $15 voucher for the winner of this challenge and All Colour Create readers are welcome to a 15% discount good through July 31st  just type in the promo code CREATE. Be sure to check it out as Michelle has some new Magnolia & Sweet Pea stamps in stock! The inspiration pic below was chosen by our DT Di. It's a beautiful picture and the colours are gorgeous so I'm sure she will have inspired you all to play along! Di's colours are peach, pale pink and black with the optional extra being lace or tulle.

I must admit I was a little thrown at first using pink and peach together but I'm happy with the way my card turned out. My base card is Black with a layer of Blush Blossom and I've chosen some 7 Gypsies pattern paper from the 5th Avenue Pack.

I have used Copics to colour my Ballerina Tilda and I've also used a Clear Spica Copic Pen on her dress and slippers and a Sand Spica Copic Pen in her hair but the photo doesn't show this detail :(  Tilda's Tiara is coloured with Copics and then I went a little crazy with the Pink and Clear Gemstones!

I've also added this gorgeous little Dress Charm and used one really large flower instead of a floral arrangement - just for a change.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out the creations by the rest of the Colour Create Team - they are fantastic!

Stamps: Magnolia - Ballarina Tilda

Paper: Black & Blush Blossom Cardstock with 7 Gypsies Pattern Paper
